MEN provides different kinds of I/O components, from mezzanine modules to CompactPCI peripheral cards to FPGA IP cores

About I/O Components

MEN offers a wide range of industrial I/O and computer I/O components for 3U/6U CompactPCI® (Serial) and VMEbus systems, standardized mezzanine cards, and a solid base of FPGA IP cores.

M-Modules™ make industrial I/O functions such as instrumentation, process I/O, motion, robotics, various general-purpose analog and binary I/O as well as all common fieldbus interfaces available to different system environments through carrier boards. A 6U carrier accommodates up to 4 M-Modules™ while a 3U board carries up to two M-Modules™.

ANSI-standardized since 1997, M-Modules™ are a mezzanine standard perfectly suited for adding any kind of real-world I/O to any kind of computer system in a very flexible way.

Computer I/O functions such as graphics, Ethernet and switches, UARTs, USB, FireWire, TTL I/O, memory and fieldbus interfaces and gateways are available on cards for standard bus systems or - for more flexibility - on PMC, XMC or PC-MIP® mezzanine form factors.

PMC (PCI) and XMC (PCI Express®) is the most widely spread mezzanine standard for embedded applications.
PC-MIP® is another PCI-based mezzanine ANSI standard.

FPGA IP Cores can be integrated into many MEN products to tailor the board or system I/O to individual requirements. MEN provides a vast range of IP cores to choose from.

Being designed to work also in rugged environments, MEN boards are qualified or screened for shock, vibration, drop, resonance, humidity, chemicals, and up to -40 to +85°C operating temperature.

MEN boards have a long-term availability of minimum 5 up to 10 years (and longer according to individual agreements) depending on the components used.
