MEN offers a range of VME, VME64 and 2eSST single-board computers on different performance levels based on PowerPC® and Intel® architectures for rugged applications up to the most safety-critical environments.
Of course, state-of-the-art PC functions are essential, but MEN's CPU boards also feature industrial functions such as real-time clock, or watchdogs for temperature and voltage control. Memory and mass storage configuration possibilities include standard DRAM system memory (with or without ECC) plus non-volatile SRAM or FRAM, soldered Flash and SATA for onboard hard disks and other media used for program storage.
MEN VME boards have been developed to work also in rugged environments - qualified or screened regarding shock, vibration, drop, resonance, humidity, chemicals, and up to -40 to +85°C operating temperature. Where demands for safety are extremely high, e.g., in avionics or rail applications, additional qualification of a CPU board is needed. MEN's 6U A602 CPU is made for just that. With a triple-redundancy architecture on board, the fault-tolerant 6U computer was designed according to DO-254 and EN 50129 and can be certified up to DAL-A or SIL 4.
Along with our customers, we believe in mezzanine modules for flexible, individual extension by further I/O functions, and provide plug-in slots on most VME CPU boards. MEN VMEbus solutions are completed by a huge number of industrial I/O boards based on M-Module™, PMC or XMC ANSI/IEC mezzanine standards.
Available functions extend from analog and binary I/Os to instrument devices up to fieldbus, network and graphics.
A growing number of boards are equipped with FPGAs for implementation of further application-specific functions.
Complete VMEbus systems are delivered individually configured, wired and tested on the basis of Schroff® mechanics and backplanes. Some boards are even prepared for busless operation.
Software support comprises BSPs and driver packages for VxWorks®, Linux, Windows® and other popular real-time operating systems, up to VxWorks®/Cert.
MEN boards have a long-term availability of minimum 5 up to 10 years (and longer according to individual agreements) depending on the components used.
