DAkkS Accredited Test Laboratory
The MEN in-house test laboratory is accredited by the German accreditation body DAkkS, according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 for EMC, environmental simulation tests and safety of electrical equipment.
Qualified Test Reports for Railway and Industrial Applications
MEN is accredited according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005, to supply recognized test reports for further approvals of the end system. The accreditation covers tests regarding EMC, environmental simulation and safety of electrical equipment for the railway and industrial markets. MEN is qualified to deliver accredited test reports that can be produced at short notice or can be better planned, without customers or MEN itself being dependent on an external laboratory with correspondingly long waiting times.
Additional Qualification: Compliance with EN 50124-1
The MEN lab complies with EN 50124-1, which specifies the insulation coordination of air and creepage distances in railway applications to ensure electrical safety and to avoid short circuits or even oversizing of the insulation. Across Germany, only about 5 companies are accredited for EN 50124-1.
The MEN quality management system includes cable monitoring to check the suitable temperature and humidity in the laboratories as well as DAkkS-accredited measuring instruments with sophisticated DAkkS calibration.
In addition to the DAkkS accreditation, MEN already has industry-specific QM certifications in aerospace (EN/AS 9100) and railways (IRIS - ISO/TS 22163), and has experience in the safety sector according to DO-254 and for Safety Integrity Level up to SIL 4.
Capacities also cover the area of electrical safety: testing of devices for electrical safety, overvoltage, short circuit, personal protection, mechanical hazards.
MEN's quality management comprises all company areas accounting for the service aspect: design, production and maintenance, marketing and sales, order desk, production planning, buying etc. It focuses on the customer, who is to be satisfied on a long-term basis by the highest quality possible of both products and services.
Certification partner is DQS, a part of the international DQS-UL Group.
Official certification according to DIN EN ISO 9001 is in place since 1997. It has been replaced by the most recent version ISO 9001 in October 2008.
Official certification according to DIN EN ISO 50001 is in place since 2016. It helps MEN to conserve resources and tackle climate change. ISO 50001 puts a focus on using energy more efficiently, through the development of an energy management system.
EN/AS 9100 for Aerospace
Official certification according to EN 9100 is in place since 2008. It makes MEN an even more preferable and qualified partner for critical airborne applications in the avionics market.
IRIS for Railway
Official certification according to IRIS (International Railway Industry Standard) DIN ISO/TS 22136 in place since 2009. It emphasizes MEN's excellence for the transportation market.
E-Mark for Vehicles
An extended ISO 9001 certificate proves that the management system fulfills the requirements of international traffic laws. The ISO 7637-2 certification mark indicates that for these vehicles or vehicle parts a type approval was issued. It makes MEN a qualified partner for all applications in the automotive market.
